about the residency

The SSL Healer-in Residence Cohort is a 4-month residency. We are seeking BIPOC healing artists with specific modalities and experience practicing in intergenerational BIPOC communities. The Space Share Lab is dedicated to creating space where both practitioner and seeker are able to build community together. We believe in affording opportunities for the healing wisdoms within our communities to have place and platform and excited to offer our Residency to like-minded healers.

WHAT'S NEEDED: 

• Residents will conduct 4, 60-mins community-wide healing workshops/classes

• Residents will conduct 1 healing and workshop/class for our partner youth program,

WHERE I STAND.

• Residents will document stories, conduct wellness surveys (for our knowledge only) and commit to bi-weekly check-in calls.

WHAT'S OFFERED: 

• $625 honorarium ($125/per hour x 5, 60-min activations) 

• Access to Space Share Lab in Bronzeville to conduct residency

• Marketing, promoting & feature on web & social media sites 

• Free annual membership to the Space Share Lab to conduct additional courses (does not include $18 hourly booking rate) 

• An opportunity to master your practice w/community

WHAT'S REQUIRED: 

• Experienced BIPOC healers able to work in person at our Bronzeville location

• Ability to honor agreements with full willingness, availability and integrity 

• To show up fully present and in deep care of yourself and community

• Completion of our Healer-in-Residence application

PLEASE NOTE: SPACE SHARE LAB OFFERS ITS WOMB OF SACRED SPACE FOR COMMUNITY LEADERS & PRACTITIONERS DEDICATED TO SOCIAL & ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE AND THE RELATED HEALING AND UNITY PRACTICES REQUIRED TO ACHIEVE INDIVIDUAL AND COMMUNAL FREEDOMS. THE COLLECTIVE INDOOR AND OUTDOOR SPACES SHALL NOT BE USED TO PLAN, ORGANIZE OR DISCUSS NARRATIVES THAT FOSTER INTOLERANCE OR HATRED OF ANY KIND.
